Animals and 4H Summer 2009

Wow! Another slide show? Yes, I am having way too much fun, finally putting all these pictures onto slideshows! What can I say?
This summer seems to have flown by and I hate it! Why does summer have to go by so quickly? Is it because we try to jam so much into such a short period of time? Is it because it only lasts what seems like 2 weeks? Or is it that I LOVE summer and I NEVER want it to end? I love long days, early mornings, late nights, NO school and a lax work schedule? I love everything about the summer! I love BBQing and eating outside and building bonfires. I love watching the kids take care of their animals, only to prepare to sell them at the fair or put them in the freezer! I just love summer? What is your favorite part of summer?

Where Oh Where.........

Has the summer gone? I cannot believe it is the middle of July! Do you know what that means? Summer is half over! That is depressing!

Here is what we have been up to for the past month! Wow, time flies.
Weekend of June 19th - We spent a night in Kalispell & Dave did the work thing and I did some shopping. Hit TJMaxx & Target and got some bargains.
That Sunday the kids were in the Blue Ribbon Show, they both showed their pigs and did a great job. Tennyson won Showmanship & Emmy got 5th, it was her very first show. They both did so great, I was so proud of them.

Weekend of June 26th - We loaded up the pick-up with 4 boys and headed to Spokane, WA for the Annual Hoopfest 3-on-3 basketball tourney. It was so much fun. It was warm, got a good start on the tan. The boys had a great first game, kicked some serious butt, 2nd game was rough & the 3rd game they played.....they could have won. As it turned out Dave's games were all at the same time, so I was left to coach/manage & cheer on the boys. It is so exciting to watch them but probably they need a coach that actually knows what they are doing. Both Dave's little team & the boys were 3 & out on Saturday! It was a bummer but there was a jrhigh girls teams from Deer Lodge so we stayed and watched them on Sunday and then headed home. A good time was had by all & one of my favorite parts about a weekend in Spokane is having Fred Meyer like a block away! :-)

July 1st weekend - We rented a boat with Dave's family and headed to Polson early on July 2nd. On the drive up we got a call from the boat rental place saying the water was rough and full of white caps, so there was no need to hurry. Which was good anyways we got a little later start than we wanted to. So we got to Polson and yes there was wind.....so we decided to have some brunch and rent the boat for half a day. It turned out to be a great day & the water was just about perfect around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I think the Flathead Lake is heaven on earth! It is the most beautiful place, in the whole world! I love it there. Again, a great time was had by all and we got a great start to our tans.
The weather has been so weird this summer, not exactly HOT by any means. We have had so much rain, like I think everyday! It has been crazy! But my lawn and flowers all look GREAT!

On July 4th we went over to some friends and had a pig roast and enjoyed their new party pad.
This past week and weekend we had no company and just enjoyed the quiet and doing nothing. I think I took a nap on Saturday & Sunday. I love naps.
We cleaned out the garage on Saturday and found some treasures. I found my box of pictures.....brought back lots of memories. It was great fun. The garage looks GREAT too. I love it.

This weekend is the Relay For Life. We decided to host the event BBQ and will be BBQing burgers and dogs at the opening of the Relay. It should be GREAT. I hope we have a good turn out and people by some food. LOL

I haven't taken a ton of pictures this summer but I have some of the kids and their animals. And alas, finally pictures of the DECK!

I will post this and then get all my pictures downloaded and do just a post of pictures.....stay tuned!
